Món Vínic
Iconic cellar, great cheese — by-the-glass a bit too “wild”
Mon Vínic is a wine-and-cheese bar with a shop attached, and it still feels like a benchmark for drinking in Barcelona: calm, beautiful space, a serious bottle selection, and a tapas format that knows its role. If you like to browse, pick a bottle, and settle in, this place makes it easy.
The food works. The cheese selection is genuinely strong and the tapas are neatly executed—more about quality and balance than culinary fireworks. It’s the kind of menu that supports the wine rather than competing with it, and that’s exactly what we want here.
Where it gets tricky is by the glass. The list is extensive, but it can lean heavily toward radical natural wines—high-voltage bottles that are interesting in theory but not always the best match for how we actually want to drink. We also hit a few glasses that felt more “character” than pleasure, and the explanation that “natural wines are like that” doesn’t always help.
Still: as a destination for bottles, cheese, and a relaxed session, Mon Vínic remains a very good address
