Shoronpo

Soup dumplings and ramen that hit hard — bring earplugs

Shoronpo is a tight little Japanese spot built around two comfort pillars: shoronpo soup dumplings and ramen. And honestly, the food is phenomenal. The dumplings do that perfect thing where the wrapper stays delicate, the filling tastes seasoned—not busy—and the broth inside feels like the point, not a trick. The ramen follows the same logic: bold, satisfying, and cooked with real confidence. We leave thinking about the next bowl before we’ve paid.

The trade-off is the room. It’s small and it gets loud fast, the kind of noise that turns dinner into a slightly chaotic sport. Service can also be uneven: sometimes quick and on it, other times a bit distracted, which stands out because the cooking is so locked-in. Still, we’d go back. When a place cooks this well, we can forgive some rough edges—as long as we know what we’re walking into.
