Macot
Pretty room, natural-wine posture, and a meal that stays polite
Macot is a charming, well-kept wine bar in the “modern Catalan small plates” lane: shareable dishes, good raw materials, clean technique, and a natural-wine framing that sets expectations from the start. The space has real warmth—one of those places that feels designed for a long, easy night without trying too hard.
And that’s also the catch. Everything works, but very little pops. The food is perfectly fine—competent, nicely presented, good product—but it rarely has that last punch that turns “correct” into “memorable.” Same with the wine experience: it’s positioned as a wine-led spot, yet what we end up with feels fairly standard in impact, more “safe and serviceable” than genuinely exciting.
So Macot lands as a pleasant address: nothing wrong, nothing particularly remarkable. We’d recommend it when we want an easy, good-looking place that won’t fail us—just not when we’re chasing a true wow factor.
