Hermòs

Market-bar seafood, done with care

Hermòs Bar de Peix lives inside a fishmonger stall in a market, and that sets the tone: the product is ridiculously fresh, and the cooking respects it. This is market-bar Catalan seafood with a modern hand—plancha, quick sauces, clean seasoning, and that satisfying simplicity that makes you lean over the counter and pay attention.

We come here for the pleasure of eating well in the middle of real life: sitting at a market bar, watching the kitchen work in close quarters, and getting fish and shellfish treated properly. In general, it’s well cooked and well served—no drama, just competence and good instincts. It’s the kind of place where a few plates can quietly turn into a full meal because everything feels honest and appetizing.

The wines are a bit irregular, but mostly correct, and they do the job without getting in the way of the seafood. If you’re expecting a perfectly polished wine program, you might hesitate; if you want a market lunch that delivers, this is an easy yes. We like coming back
