Bodega Bonavista
Bodega Bonavista: The Anti-Concept Wine Spot That Actually Feels Alive
In a city crowded with carefully rehearsed “canalla” attitudes, Bodega Bonavista is refreshing for what it refuses to perform. It doesn’t try to be anything; it simply is—a wine shop and charcuterie counter where the main event is opening a bottle and letting the night arrange itself. The atmosphere in Gràcia feels genuine, slightly scruffy, and disarmingly original, the kind of place that makes you forget you’re in a trend cycle.
The selection is the headline: an unusually interesting range of wines that can keep the most demanding wine lover happily distracted, with plenty of smart options for pairing rather than posturing. The food is deliberately simple—excellent cured meats, cheeses, and quality conservas—exactly the kind of honest supporting cast that lets the bottle take center stage.
The only variable is the human one. Catch the team on a good day and you’ll be warmly guided; catch them on a bad day and you’ll feel it. Still, the authenticity wins. We’d go more often if it were closer—and if the owner had more good days.
