Monocrom
Wine-first bistro, Catalan backbone, and a cellar with opinions
Monocrom is a wine-led bistro in the best sense: the room is built around bottles, and the kitchen plays support with smart, market-driven Mediterranean-Catalan cooking. We’re talking small plates that lean on good product and proper technique—simple ideas executed with enough precision to keep us engaged without turning dinner into a lecture.
The mood is relaxed and grown-up, more “neighborhood regulars” than “special occasion,” and that’s part of the charm. The wine selection is the real headline: natural/organic-leaning, broad enough to explore, and clearly curated with a point of view. When the team is on, it’s the kind of place where one glass becomes three, because the list keeps whispering “try this.”
If we have a small reservation, it’s that wine-forward places can sometimes feel like they’re daring us to keep up. Here, it mostly stays welcoming—and that balance is why we’d happily return
