Hermòs served its last lunch on the twenty-sixth of July, 2026, and the fish stall it occupied inside the market has already been handed on. We are keeping the entry, because the review below still describes something worth remembering: the seafood was genuinely good, and the setting — a bar built into a working market, in the middle of the working day, surrounded by people buying their own dinner — is the kind of thing a city loses one address at a time. We will also be honest about why we never became regulars. Whoever was running the counter on our visits made the room feel like an interruption rather than an invitation: you ate well, paid, and left without any particular urge to come back. Good fish deserved better hosting. The stall has a future. This version of it does not.
The 2025 Review
Market-bar seafood, done with care
Hermòs Bar de Peix lives inside a fishmonger stall in a market, and that sets the tone: the product is ridiculously fresh, and the cooking respects it. This is market-bar Catalan seafood with a modern hand—plancha, quick sauces, clean seasoning, and that satisfying simplicity that makes you lean over the counter and pay attention.
We come here for the pleasure of eating well in the middle of real life: sitting at a market bar, watching the kitchen work in close quarters, and getting fish and shellfish treated properly. In general, it’s well cooked and well served—no drama, just competence and good instincts. It’s the kind of place where a few plates can quietly turn into a full meal because everything feels honest and appetizing.
The wines are a bit irregular, but mostly correct, and they do the job without getting in the way of the seafood. If you’re expecting a perfectly polished wine program, you might hesitate; if you want a market lunch that delivers, this is an easy yes. We like coming back
