Bocanariz

Pleasantly lit, clearly framed — and quickly forgotten

Bocanariz is a good-looking room with flattering light and a very defined proposition: tapas and natural wines, full stop. It’s easy to drop in, feel comfortable, and understand the pitch within five minutes.

On the food side, we had a clear split. The charcuterie was the high point—good quality, the kind of thing that makes sense in a wine bar. The cheeses, though, didn’t work for us at all: low quality, little character, and not what we expect when cheese is supposed to be part of the core offering.

The wine list is broad and heavily tilted toward the more “suspicious” end of the natural spectrum—bottles that feel chosen for the idea as much as for the pleasure. That could still be fun if the team guided it well, but they didn’t. The staff didn’t seem prepared to recommend, explain, or answer wine questions with real confidence, which is a shame precisely because wine is the whole point here.

In the end, the experience wasn’t bad. It just didn’t leave us with much to remember.
