Bambarol
More image than craft, overpriced but professionally run
Bambarol has the kind of reputation that suggests a bigger payoff than it actually delivers. The room itself doesn’t help: it’s not particularly beautiful, and the atmosphere feels more functional than charming. You don’t walk in and think “this is special”—you walk in and hope the plates will do the heavy lifting.
The drinks are fine, but they play it safe, just like the rest of the place. Nothing offensive, nothing memorable—more “correct” than exciting. It’s a setup that keeps the night moving without adding much character, and it matches the restaurant’s overall approach: stay in the middle, avoid surprises.
Food looks the part, and that’s clearly the priority. There’s more styling than technique, more aesthetic confidence than culinary depth. Still, you do eat well enough—flavors are pleasant, portions make sense, and it never collapses into a bad meal. It’s just that nothing really pops, nothing shows risk or real ambition. Everything lands in that careful zone of “good enough.”
Service is the strongest element. The staff has oficio: they know how to run a room, they keep things smooth, and they make the experience feel more professional than the food sometimes does. The frustration is the price. For what you’re actually getting, the bill comes in too high—Bambarol delivers, but only just, and it charges like it’s doing something more.
